Brandon's Visit

Brandon phoned his mom when he arrived. He had to look at a book at the same time.
Then he decided to play with the toys we had left in the family room.

I'm glad we saved all those old Fisher-Price toys.

When we were at the cottage we visited Lang Pioneer Village one day. We had an interesting visit to the school house.

There were rules for students and rules for teachers. At the end of her 10 hour day the teacher was expected to spend her spare time reading the Bible.

Brandon thought this was a beautiful view of the mill on the property.

In the evening at the cottage we played Yahtzee.

The playground at Elmhirst Lodge provided a challenge.

Brandon's reaction to Yahtzee was "boring" - until he won the first game thanks to this exceedingly long turn throwing one die which made 5 of a kind. Then, he wanted to play it every night before going to bed.

The game is sheer luck so we all took turns winning (and Brandon won again on another night.

He now wants to take the game home to play in Switzerland - I suspect ton the basis that any game he can win is not "boring"!

We got a good laugh when watching the video. Everything is in how you roll the dice. We have a Yahtzee game, we have just never played it with him. I will get it out for when he comes back.

So ... do you spell English words, French words, or a combination of both?
Yahtzee is numbers. I know there is a game where you roll letters. What is it?

Boggle is where you roll the letters. I can't wait to see videos of Grandma and Grandpa playing games with Joshua later. He can be really hard to get moving along...
