Scuba Diving Friends from Illinois at the Cottage

We met Richard and Janet in August 2008 in the Solomon Islands.  Returning from a holiday in upstate New York, they stopped by at the cottage with their four year old grandson, Gael, for a visit.

They arrived with two kayaks on their car. Unfortunately, it was too windy at Rice Lake for kayaking.

So... we went for a walk.

The playground at the Southview resort near us was an attraction for Gael.

This time of year it is very weedy at our dock.

It wasn't easy reeling in this fish.

Richard and Gael.

On the way to the Peterborough Lift Locks and the Peterborough Zoo, we had some entertainment.

By the way, Janet caught the wahoo in the Solomon Islands.

I was thinking it was pretty amazing that Janet caught that at Rice Lake. I know there are muskie there that are quite big, but have never seen anyone catch one.

That is not a muskie, and it sure looks like a mounted one from somewhere in the south!

We ate the fish that Janet caught - so it was live caught and not stuffed.

But you have to read the fine print at the end of the blog to see where. Anyone need glasses?

Wow! I was very surprised to see my Solomon Islands wahoo with the pics! It sure was heavy, and Richard took his sweet time coming to take my picture. Everyone else had already taken it! Janet
