Thomas Wants Mom and Dad!
When we arrived to babysit Thomas, he was happy to see us and wanted to demonstrate all his toys. Unfortunately when he saw Megan and Michael leave, he wanted to follow. Poor little boy!
Remembering that Alicia was fascinated with the videos of herself crying, I decided to see what Thomas would do. It worked. He wanted to see it over and over.

Thomas doesn't speak yet, but he does sign. Each time the short video stopped he made the sign for "more!". Then, he watched intently as the movie of his temper tantrum played again.
Eventually Sandra stopped replaying the movie. Then, as can be seen, he started to cry again (just a little bit). Voila! Showing him the movie of him crying with his favorite toy truck in his hand, stopped the crying instantly (for as long as the movie lasted).
Then, we went upstairs to put him to bed. Tantrum time again. So, I went downstairs and brought up my computer to play extracts to Beethoven's 3rd to 5th symphonies to him (courtesy CBC). Instantly pacified!
Without a digital camera and without a lap top computer, I wonder how Sandra and I ever raised our three girls? It all seems so long ago - but what progress the new electronic media have made.
