And then to Switzerland

Travelling by train from Cologne to Basel and then to Neuchatel we were surprised to see snow in Switzerland.

However, when we arrived in Neuchatel, the only snow was on the distant mountains.

The Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau were out in all their glory. The white in the foreground are the greenhouses behind Bryn and Hervé's house. Not snow.

Alicia goes to the local Kindergarten.  The hours are strange. Most days it's morning only. On one day it is morning and afternoon but lunch is from 11:45 until 1:45.

One afternoon we made muffins.

For Halloween, Alicia was a cat.

Brandon was a monster. I don't think the mask was very comfortable.

The pumpkin Bryn carved.

In their town of Wavre, Halloween was to be on Friday November 2nd from 6 to 8 pm. I don't think all the Swiss quite understand Halloween. In the bags I found that someone had given the children a handful of shelled almonds. I guess they were supplies from the cooking cupboard of a person who did not know that this was the night.

The next day, Brandon had a swimming competition. He is showing the two medals he won.

That night we went out for dinner for "La Chasse" because it was the season for the hunt. While waiting to be served, Brandon had to do review exercises for school. Exams were coming up. These are important because they start streaming the children after Grade 6.
Hervé had to take Alicia home early because she was sick. Too much Halloween candy, I think.
