Visiting Charles, Linda and JoAnn near Creemore Ontario
On Friday, Paul's former partner Charles, from Barbados, and his wife, Linda, invited us to visit them and their friend, JoAnn, who lives near Creemore.
A view of JoAnn's house from the pond. When JoAnn bought the property 35 years ago it was all field. Now there are two ponds, several gardens, many varying trees and wind-breaks.
Frogs leaped away when I put my hand in the water. Earlier in the week, Linda went swimming in the pond
The second of the two ponds had a spectacular view over the Nottawasaga valley.
The waterlilies were an unusual red colour.
JoAnn has many gardens on her property, some dedicated to important people in her life.
A close-up of one of the sunflowers.
Paul and Charles appear to be having a very serious discussion.
More relaxed now?
With such a view, why hurry the discussion?
After lunch we planned to do a hike on the Bruce Trail. Here, Linda and JoAnn are in the kitchen, almost ready for the hike. JoAnn is an artist. Her drawings and paintings are throughout the house.
A stand of high bush cranberries showing the colours of fall. Since we didn't start the hike until around 5:30 pm, Paul was a little worried that we would be ending our hike in the dark. He was not reassured by JoAnn saying that there would be almost a full moon - because the moon would not rise until 2 hours after sunset. However, since the hike was 6 km and not 6 miles, we finished our hike just before dark.
A closer look at the high bush cranberries.
The Bruce Trail leads through fields and woods. In the gullies are really interesting rock formations. Paul and Charles went ahead while Linda, JoAnn and I took pictures.
Besides guiding us to the route, JoAnn knew the names of most of the flora on the path.

These berries are commonly called "Doll's Eyes".

JoAnn says that these evergreen ferns stay green all winter.
A final view of the hills and valleys. Since it was nearly 7:00 pm, the light was fading.
